Student conference on conservation science,Bangalore India

The Student conference on conservation science took place from the 25th-28th September 2013 at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India.It brought together 300 of Africa's and Asia's brightest conservation researchers of which there was 20 student talks and the rest plenaries from conservation luminaries from all over the world including RomunusWhittaker,Patricia Wright and Kay Holekamp among others.

Herman a KENWEB student working in Laikipia  was the only East African representative and presented  work that he did for hisMsc. thesis entitled: Mesocarnivore "release": An opportunity for aquatic ecosystem health monitoring or a biologist's fantasy?as one of the 20 student talks .Further,his photo won the overall prize of the photo competition "Sweat behind ecology." at the revered international  students conference.


Chege at the conference


Herman Njoroge Chege was on 18th October 2013 nominated as the new Kenyan coordinator for the Tropical Biology Association Alumni group after a meeting of its members held at the National Museums of Kenya. This alumni group brings together more than 200 kenyan alumni of the field courses that the Tropical Biology Association carries out in Africa representing arguably the biggest human resource in tropical biology in Africa.
